Awkward moments

Though what people may say, i AM shy at people im unfamiliar with... especially with ADULTS or ANY OLDER RELATIVE (except for my parents and close relatives >.<). Also, i cant handle the crowd that well also. It got me thinking when i went to a friend's house because we had to do something and pretend to be busy bodies. So yeah, i arrived around 9:40 AM at my friend's house. Knocked at their door and thus the door opens. It was my friend's mum who opened the door (the first thing i thought was that my friend is STILL asleep. and the other one was "oh no"). She let me in and offered a seat. Then and there, i sat.... with awkwardness.

My friend's mum went up to my friend's room and knocked at my friend's room. HE IS FAST ASLEEP. I was sitting patiently and awkwardly. She came back to the living room to where i was sitting. She offered coffee and cookies while i was waiting. She was doing laundry and i was just sitting awkwardly trying to fix myself some hot coffee. Got my cookies... this particular cookie though were the ones produced by "PRESTO"... namely MILK COOKIES. I am not fond of milk, but i felt so awkward to actually NOT eat it. So yeah i opened the pack and got one cookie after another while sipping coffee in between. The one thing i noticed with the cookies were they had this little faces with emotions, ANOTHER thing was all the faces imprinted on the cookies that i have ate are ANGRY FACES (and i ate the cookies though i dont like milk cookies >.<). It felt so uneasy. So my friend's mum went upstairs again to try waking up my friend. HE IS STILL FAST ASLEEP. So I was still there sitting patiently and awkwardly when my friend's mum went down. She talked a bit, no she talked a lot. Lot of things where my replies were just

"haha"
"ahh... mao buh? (ahhh... really?)"
"Hala..."

Dont get me wrong, i actually like my friend's mum. She reminds me of my own mother a lot. And she's so hospitable. But i just feel so awkward. My friend finally woke up... went down and talked about what we were suppose to do that day. Then my friend ate a bit and went to take a shower. SO ONCE AGAIN, I was stuck there alone with my friend's mum. awkward. awkward. awkward. She saw i sitting alone again and offered KOKO CRUNCH. She took out a bowl, pour some in. Grabbed a glass and put lukewarm water and explained that their water wasnt cold because she didnt get to plug water dispenser that day. I stared at the water for awhile, and looked around the table and saw MILK. I dont usually eat KOKO CRUNCH without milk, but i felt so awkward to actually make myself some milk, or was my friend's mother actually offering me milk or something. So ended up eating KOKO CRUNCH without MILK -__- and she was passing by sometimes and makes me wonder if she thinks im weird cause im eating KOKO CRUNCH without MILK or maybe she may think "wala ni sa akung bukid" (a cebuano slang meaning not from my place pertaining ignorance).

So there were other times i experienced awkward moments from other people's parents/relatives. -__- but the experience i had this morning reminded me how awkward i feel when im around them especially if they start to have a conversation with me.

AWKWARD!

More than meets the eye.

I was going out with my highschool friends, we had this little get together. We haven't formally sat down as friends properly for 3 years, for there were requirement at school, things to do, and the distances for others were out of town.

BUT, that isnt the point here.

My point is something that caught my attention as we were on our little get together, and we got to catch up on each other's lives. We got to the topic about facebook. We talked about the applications, videos, pictures and every little thing that facebook made it possible for us to update each other in one social network. But when my friends talked about this particular video in facebook that she saw, it really took my attention.

It was a video about Barrack Obama proving to be the antichrist.

No, im not saying that he is. No one knows who the antichrist is, and when he is coming (but we will soon). But she told us about this and it really took my attention. I didn't see the video of course, so when i got home that night, i searched it on facebook. I shrugged maybe it got burried with all the updates so i decided to search it on youtube (www.youtube.com)

I searched for : Did God reveal the name of the antichrist?

Then there were video results, i opened one. As much to my surprise, it was painstakingly disturbing and it took my attention with a matching "jaw drop"

Here is the video if you guys want to see (saves you time, rather than searching for the key words i wrote above :P):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgHUZXgNAWo&feature=related

I felt as if my blood surged. I stared at my laptop's screen for awhile after i saw the video. I assumed this was just a coincidence, a GREAT coincidence. So what i did, i scroll down and looked at the recommended videos beside it. I opened this "Is OBAMA the ANTICHRIST? 12 out of 19 characteristics are met! A MUST SEE!"

As much to my surprise, this time it wasnt only jaw dropping, i think my jaws really popped out of my mouth!

Here is the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqgvAvjOB6E&feature=related

Quite a coincidence indeed. But undeniably, for me, i know the world is going to end soon. And I know the Son of God will come down from heaven, thus, the second coming of Christ.

Revelations 22:12
"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and i will five to everyone according to what he has done."

I even saw a video about this microchip most likely answers about the symbol on the head or right hand.

Revelations 13:16-18
"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l39XsMcyvgA&feature=related

And as of the people who have been predicting dates as of when the end of the world will take place....

Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about the day or hour, even the angels in heaven, nor the Son (foot note in my bible: Some manuscripts do not have nor have son). As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."

The dates, the hours doesn't matter. What really matters is where you stand when the time comes, when the world will end. Remember, the end of the world doesn't mean full of violence, instead, there would be peace treaties and the unity of a one world. (Thus, fulfilling the scripture in Revelations 13:7 "he was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he is given authority to EVERY TRIBE, PEOPLE, LANGUAGE, AND NATION") Catastrophes will happen afterward.

This is no laughing matter. I wrote down the biblical facts to prove my statement i wasnt just babbling on my own. If you ask if the bible is true, or you might say that the bible is just written by man...

I happen to see a site with reasons on why the bible is true, check it out yourself:
http://www.therivercrc.com/library/seekers/bible.htm

How could one book written by different authors of different time could be so concise without contradicting each other.

2 Peter 1:20-21
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

If you read Revelations, some of the scriptures have already been fulfilled.

Then how? how can you be saved when this dreadful hour of man happens?

A jailer who guarded Paul and Silas when they were took to prison also asked this.

Acts 16:26-31
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners escaped. but Paul shouted , "Dont harm yourself! We are all here!"
The Jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must i do to be saved?"
They replied, "believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved- you and your household."

Take care brothers and sisters in Christ. Be aware for the end times are near. We must pray for each other and pray for those who havent accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

God bless everyone.

-Amfaru.
We have to spread the word! Revelations 22: 10 "Do not seal up the words of the phrophecy of this book (the Bible), because the time is near"

When you hear the word Disney?

There are only 2 things i could thing immediately after hearing "Disney"

1. They have made great movies back when i was still little. They made unforgettable movies ranging from Lion Kind, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, and many, many more. They also have unforgettable songs too! Who doesn't get their spine chilling at the starting song of The Lion King's Circle of life? Or who does not fall in love after hearing Meg singing "I wont say (I'm In love)" in Hercules? What wonderful movies, turned into timeless classics.

2. Disney loss their touch. The movies they are producing are not as great as it was before. But of course, they were also worth watch (sometimes). What happened Disney?

It occured to me all of a sudden, when i accidentally tumbled on a video in youtube (www.youtube.com) in Hercules where Meg was singing "I won't say (I'm In love)." It really took me back to childhood. The next thing i knew it, i was looking for Disney classics in youtube. It really took me back. I wonder if ever the new generation could still appreciate this kinds of cartoons nowadays (and yes im part of this new generation, but lets say i was cut in half hehe). The lyrics are witty and wonderfully written that i would really doubt if someone doesnt know what Disney is (or who is Disney). I also read the comments on the video, i wasn't the only one who was reminded of their childhood. My childhood, indeed, was the best... and better than the ones were computer has took over their heads. I hope we could cultivate this mindset over computer-driven-half-witted-addiction to the minds of younglings today when the industry was young and pure. Even, me, myself couldn't watch movies because I'm afraid to see scenes unappropriate. People tell me I'm an adult now, that doesn't seem to cut out for it. I'm not interested in those things anyway haha.

On the other hand, why not watch one my favorite part in mulan. :)

Anything but everything under the sun (?)

Its very humid lately, even night time are very warm. But it rains once in awhile too. But the heat of the sun sometimes makes me forget that it also rains.

How many times have you read "P.S." in notes, letters, emails and much much more? But do you know what it means? One night, my brother suddenly blurted out to my father asking what P.S. means. I turned my head and thought to myself the answer i can contribute to him. Then and there i realized i don't know what it exactly mean. I also concluded it must have meant "please" or something. My father then answered after a few seconds of silence... "post script."
How many words have we used without knowing what it really means? Or taking advantage of a word we use everyday. We also have new generation abbreviation nowadays. Who haven't heard of "LOL"? But sometimes i feel its impersonal . Like when you crack a very hilarious joke to your friend, just when you were expecting him to laugh, he just gave out a loud LOL. Now now, why not just laugh. Just a thought.

Have you read the News lately? We always read a number of people died of this and that, another journalist died because of, politician murdered and the list goes on. I've been thinking, you really don't know when your loves one dies. Death is really like a thief in the the night. Then should always remind our love ones that we love them? Most of the times we are put between the walls of embarrassment (like me) but who knows when time is up? Especially if we are not in good terms with them. We have to keep a habit of showing our love...

Just a quick blog :)
If the MUSIC is too LOUD, then your TOO OLD! :D haha! (thats not LOL ok?)

The avid filipinos finally took a stand on cheating and the sorts, that has been causing depression in the country.
Being deprived of living well because of the economy, some of us is starving, homeless and begging in the streets. Will the new leaders who will run in the election make a difference?

I just turned 19 last march, and now is legally of age to vote. I've seen ads everywhere where the campaign managers are urging the public that we should be involved with today's crisis and the upcoming elections. YES. We should! for our future lies on whoever will seat on the palace, and whether we like it or not, we are INVOLVED.
What really impressed me with these ads that has been very active in the public is the fact that filipinos are aware and becoming wise voters. The filipino people has surely evolved and are not shunned by popular icons in the country. Just like when Manny Pacquiao ran for a place in his province, people were actually THINKING this time. Unlike what happened when Joseph Estrada ran for presidency, people were voting him for his image and his popularity but not really looking at what he can actually do with the little knowledge of being in position. Ika nga, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
As i said, i am of legal age to vote. And I, as part of the youth, am going to vote wisely. Unswayed by votes and schemes of these politicians. We should always read between the lines, not the fragrances they emit JUST during the election period. To tell you the truth, their TV ads make me sick. They are giving me the impression that the Philippines is just about dirty politics. With this, the more we should always push for change.

One thing i really like about this upcoming elections, is the growing public awareness. Recently, the "Ako MISMO" campaign has been implemented by SMART/PLDT* The "Ako MISMO" is about to be able to stand on your own feet and fight for what you believe in. (You can visit their site at: www.akomismo.org) I even find their TV advertisement very interesting and empowering.
*source: http://opinion.inquirer.net/viewpoints/columns/view/20090507-203743/Ako-Mismo-is-Anong-Taya-Mo

Another that has been an eye opener for the public is the ABS-CBN's "Boto mo, ipatrol mo" campaign. It gives the normal citizens a chance to actually to be involved in a way they couldn't before. It made the filipinos care more about their country, and helped lessen the growing apathy in the youth. As they started with a slogan in their multiply account: "You, dear citizen, have the power to effect change on what you don’t like and replicate the good that you see and do.*" We can really see how the filipino is urging for a clean politics this time. Well, nothing is impossible.

So we ask the question, are the filipinos going to take a stand? I say, YES WE WILL. It's a long shot, but i know we can do it.

Suicide is becoming the next deadly fad?

-or is it the only way out?

"A wise man once said If you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you do criticize him, you'll be a mile away and have his shoes."

The headlines have taken great attention to the citizens of Cagayan de Oro City when a fresh graduate committed suicide, and to top it off, was with honors- Magna Cum Laude to be exact.

Top grad commits suicide

"A FRESH graduate of Xavier University shocked family and friends when he committed suicide for still unknown reasons on Thursday last week.

Twenty-year-old Roldan Bacodan, who graduated last March as magna cum laude and with a degree in elementary education, died in a hospital a few hours after he was rushed there by family members...."

You may have on thought... how on earth!?...that was so stupid!
But we really don't know what they were going through that time when they finally had the resolve to kill themselves just to be "free."

Just a week ago, another Xavier University student committed suicide. A nursing student hanged himself in his room and was found dead by his aunt while checking up on him.

It really got me thinking, what are the youth really up to today... I always thought of suicide isn't the only way out... in fact that's gonna cause more problems. WHY DID HE DIE? WHY DID HE DO THIS? HE WAS DOING SO WELL, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE DIED? The people you left behind are left with scars of pains that is not gonna be erased for a lifetime.

I believe in heaven and hell.

ItalicNot to push you to my ideals in life, but if for them (who just committed suicide) here on earth is HELL itself already... what more if you die by sinning (and that is to kill yourself) you go to the real thing -HELL which is x1000000000000000000000000000000 more pain.

I believe that if we get some help, we can overcome this challenges in life. I have done that so far and I'm getting good results. I admit, i get thoughts of suicide at times, but never killed myself -so far. I just wish for the people who is alive and may be reading this blog... PLEASE, think before you finally cut that vein, hang your head, or get killed by a fast truck...

What will happen to my family?
What will happen to my friends?
Will they even be happy?
The people i care about, ill never see them again.

A friend of mine said "who cares! I'm already dead (if he was the one who committed suicide)" as i told him the consequences when a person dies. Well, YOU SHOULD CARE if you ask me. But i guess people who decided to end their lives have thought of these things but felt the weight of their problems were heavier.

Days after that nursing student died, a classmate of my friend also committed suicide by hanging herself. Speculation said she decided to end her life after catching his boyfriend cheating on her.

How sad... what is happening to the youth today...

Pizza would also be good without hot sauce...

...Pizza for breakfast, Lasagna for lunch... so where's dinner? you ask.

This marks the first post of my blog...... I was busy asking people what should my first blog post be? I thought it would be something dramatic or something intriguing, but sadly, i could not think of anything else but food. So there, thanks for my-being a glutton, i have named my blog page with 2 of my most favorite food. And NO, I'm not fat... in fact I am not even chubby but still a glutton (Hurray for genes! Hurray for fast metabolism). My aunt even thought i was anorexic (or also known as anorexia nervosa*) but no, i just feel like throwing up after eating too much pasta that evening when we went out for dinner with my cousins. One of my dreams is to be able to fill up my fridge with sweets of all kinds -including almonds and jelly beans. Imagine what my sweet tooth will be screaming when that day comes, but as for now, i am a struggling college student trying to cope up with life's challenges. I may not be also a college student next sem...

I've been long wondering how come people write blogs, I even write before and didn't want people to read it because its long and sad and it really reflects what I've been going through that time. So i thought it was just something I can let my feelings be expressed without anyone pointing fingers at me saying "I'm wrong, listen to me, and this is how you do it." So freedom of expression is how you should put it, but i just don't get it how come people are so hooked up to some blogs, i really would like to know how they put magic to their words so that people will be constantly be interested on what you were going to say (or write). It wasn't just mindless babble, it was words with wisdom and knocks sense out of you. But i guess that isnt true for all, i also have read blogs where they sought to destroy another by expressing their discontentment.

But i would like to learn how to spread some magic in my words so people would like what im writing and be able to read them as day pass.

That would be my blog post for today, sadly there is no pasta today... i hope there is one tomorroww! Yum! :)

-AmFaru (the glutton?)
(Seeing as the time is not right on when i actually posted so I'm going to post the exact time and date i have finished writing. May 11, 2009, 3:34 PM)
